Getting the work is half the battle. Getting the money into your account at a fair rate is the other half.

Payoneer

Widely accepted by freelance platforms and many employers. You receive money into a Payoneer balance and withdraw to a local bank account. Fees apply on withdrawal and on currency conversion; check both before you rely on it.

Wise

Often better exchange rates and transparent fees. Availability of local currency accounts and withdrawal options varies by country, so confirm what is supported for your bank.

Setting up either one

You will need identity documents, proof of address and bank details. Verification can take a few days. Use the same legal name across every platform to avoid payout holds.

Practical tips

Invoice in USD or EUR and let the client pay in their currency. Keep a record of every payment for tax purposes. Withdraw regularly rather than holding a large balance in any single service.
